Education:Pike County Memorial Hospital is proud to welcome Dr. Matthew Melander, DO. Dr. Melander is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. Dr. Melander treats people of all ages and activity levels, and strives to keep patients feeling well and performing their best. He completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship in 2007 at the prestigious Methodist Sports Medicine Center and was a team fellow for the 2007 Super Bowl Champions, the Indianapolis Colts.
Dr. Melander provides a wide variety of orthopedic services. As an Orthopedic Specialist, he has cutting-edge expertise with Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction, rotator cuff and labral tears of the shoulder, cartilage restoration, and hip arthroscopy.

Dr. Melander has extensive experience in the sports medicine community both personally and professionally and is dedicated to getting you back to the top of your game through efficient diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Dr. Melander is a Team Physician, for the Fort Zumwalt West High School, the Great Midwest Football League Missouri Cyclones, and a member of the sports medicine team at Lindenwood University. He is also a sports medicine consultant for Big River Running Company and Fleet Feet.
Dr. Melander will work with you to correct or improve sports injuries or other injuries. This doesnÂ't always mean surgery. Today, sports medicine focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. If surgery is required, Dr. Melander is an expert in arthroscopic, minimally invasive, and open surgical techniques.
