We are a Community Hospital
Pike County Memorial Hospital has proudly served the residents of Pike County, Missouri with a tradition of quality healthcare since 1928. Throughout the years the hospital has made changes to best meet the needs of the community.
Pike County Memorial Hospital is a licensed acute care facility. The hospital provides extensive inpatient and outpatient services that include the latest technologies in radiology, laboratory testing, surgery, physical therapy and much more. The hospitals clinics include services in allergy, cardiology, orthopedics, podiatry, pulmonology, gynecology and pain management.
Shortly after the opening of the new Emergency Center, thanks to the generous support of the community, the Radiology Department and Laboratory were enlarged and modernized. A large waiting room was placed just outside the Emergency Center. The Respiratory, Cardiac and Physical Therapy departments were moved to a new addition on the East side of the hospital providing much more space to meet the needs of increased services. In the past two years, the patient care unit and the Outpatient Surgery Departments have been completely renovated.
The state-of-the-art Emergency Department is manned 24-hours a day to serve the area. Pike County Memorial Hospital operates the ambulance service for the Pike County area. In addition to the services provided through the hospital, there are Eastern Missouri Health Services clinics located in Bowling Green and Louisiana that provide family health medical services to individuals in the community.
PCMH has multiple new services to enhance those already in place including: Cardiac Rehabilitation, Sleep Diagnostics, Nuclear Medicine, Rheumatology Clinic, Neurology Clinic, the area's ONLY certified athletic trainer, who evaluates area athletes before their seasons begin and is at the sidelines at many area games to deliver rapid evaluation and begin care should injury occur. Our physical therapy and sports medicine department provides FREE injury assessments at any time. Other important services that have been in place:
CT and MRI
General radiology (X-rays)
Rehabilitation for stroke, traumatic injuries or post-operative orthopedic conditions either in the outpatient setting or in the "Swing-bed" program,
which allows the patient to regain strength after surgery or an illness so they can return home.
One of the most important roles that PCMH plays in the community is the provision of education and promotion of wellness. Through health fairs, the speaker's bureau (accessible through the HR department at PCMH), dietary and diabetic counseling, we attempt to work with other community partners to enhance the health of our neighbors.
